Overview:
Our client, an ASX-listed metals producer with primary operations in Tasmania, is currently searching for a Mechanical Reliability Engineer - Fixed Plant, to drive systems, planning and improvement in the processing plant. The position can be offered on a 9/5 FIFO roster or via a 5/2 – 4/3 residential working arrangement.

Position Summary:
The Mechanical Reliability Engineer is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of the processing plant's equipment and systems. This role involves developing and implementing reliability strategies, conducting failure analysis, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment availability and reduce maintenance costs. The Reliability Engineer will work closely with plant maintenance and operations teams to achieve reliability and performance goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement reliability strategies and programs to improve equipment performance and reduce downtime.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) on equipment failures and develop corrective and preventive action plans.
  • Monitor equipment performance and analyse data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to develop and optimise maintenance plans and schedules.
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant reliability and performance.
  • Develop and maintain reliability metrics and KPIs to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide technical support and training to maintenance and operations personnel on reliability best practices.
  • Assist in selecting and implementing new technologies and equipment to improve reliability and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards in all reliability activities.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Reliability, or related field) or equivalent experience.
  • Prior reliability engineering experience within a mining processing plant environment.
  • Proficiency in using reliability analysis software and tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Experience with CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems) and data analysis tools.
  • Understanding of safety and environmental regulations and best practices.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Full Australian Working Rights.
