The Company
Our client, a publicly listed uranium company with focus in Africa, is currently searching for a Processing Manager. The company is advancing ramp up of it's operations through 2025, focused on delivering long-term value through efficient mining and processing operations. This is a critical leadership position responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of the company’s plant production and infrastructure development activities. 

Overview
The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in operational leadership within the mining sector, with a demonstrated ability to deliver successful production outcomes. Experience in Africa is essential, along with a deep understanding of operating in a remote, multicultural environment. While uranium processing experience is preferred, candidates with extensive gold processing experience will also be considered. Strong expertise in commissioning and plant production environments is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and oversee all operational activities, ensuring efficient and safe production.
  • Drive successful production outcomes through effective operational management and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide technical, commercial and strategic management for the Process Department to maximise recoveries and production output.
  • Implement best-practice processing techniques to enhance efficiencies and cost-effectiveness.
  • Provide strong leadership to processing and metallurgical teams, fostering a culture of safety, accountability and operational excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, environmental and health & safety requirements.
  • Drive technical and operational innovation to optimise plant performance and resource utilisation.
Skills & Experience:
  • BSc. Chemical Engineering, BSc. Metallurgical Science or similar (preferred but not essential)
  • Minimum of 15 years progressive experience in a variety of process operations, ideally encompassing project development and expansion initiatives.
  • Demonstrated skills with capital justification, budget development, expenditure and controls.
  • Experience working as an expatriate in Africa.
  • Uranium processing experience is highly desirable; however, candidates with strong gold processing experience will also be considered.
  • Strong understanding of health, safety and environmental regulations in mining operations.
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
