Company Overview: Our client, a dynamic exploration group focused on base metals discovery in high-conviction mineral districts across NSW, is currently searching for a Senior Exploration Geologist. With a portfolio of strategically positioned assets, the company is committed to advancing exploration programs that deliver significant discoveries and create long-term value.
Role Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and technically strong Senior Exploration Geologist to assume a key position in a growing exploration company. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing and managing field exploration activities, ensuring high-quality data collection and contributing to target generation and resource delineation. This position is ideal for a driven geologist who is eager to accelerate their career by taking on increasing leadership responsibilities within both geological and corporate aspects of the business.
Key Responsibilities: - Lead and execute exploration programs, including field mapping, geochemical sampling, geophysical surveys and drilling campaigns.
- Interpret geological, geochemical and geophysical data to generate and refine exploration targets.
- Oversee drilling activities, including core logging, structural analysis and QA/QC protocols.
- Work closely with consultants, contractors and field personnel to ensure exploration programs are executed safely, efficiently and within budget.
- Contribute to JORC-compliant resource estimation processes and support technical studies.
- Engage with key stakeholders, including landowners, regulatory bodies and industry partners.
- Take initiative in identifying new exploration opportunities, contributing to the strategic growth of the company’s asset portfolio.
- Actively participate in business development activities, including corporate presentations, investor engagement and industry networking.
Key Qualifications & Experience: - A degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8+ years of exploration experience, ideally with base metals discovery experience in New South Wales.
- Strong experience in drilling program management, core logging and target generation.
- Proficiency in GIS and 3D geological modelling software (e.g., Leapfrog, Micromine, or Surpac).
- Knowledge of JORC reporting standards and resource estimation methodologies.
- Ability to work independently in remote field environments while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a results-driven mindset.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to present geological interpretations to senior management, investors and stakeholders.
- A demonstrated ambition for career progression, with a willingness to take on increasing technical and corporate responsibilities.
