Our client, a Perth-based and ASX-listed mine developer, is currently seeking an experienced Senior Mine Planning Engineer to join the corporate office team. In this role, the Senior Mine Planning Engineer will serve as the technical link between site operations and the board, reporting directly to the CEO.
Key Responsibilities - Develop and optimise mine planning processes, including detailed scheduling and planning of mining operations to maximise resource value.
- Act as the primary technical liaison between site operations and the board, ensuring clear communication and alignment of technical and operational strategies.
- Prepare, analyse, and present detailed technical reports and models to support executive decision-making and strategic planning.
- Collaborate closely with site teams to ensure mine planning aligns with operational requirements and corporate objectives.
- Utilise mine planning software (Deswik, Surpac, Whittle) to conduct optimisation, scheduling, and analysis.
Required Experience and Skills - Minimum of 7 years of experience in open-pit gold mining.
- Proven practical experience in open-cut mine planning, with a strong understanding of drill and blast practices.
- Demonstrated expertise in mine optimisation, scheduling, design, and cost evaluation using advanced software tools.
- Advanced proficiency in Deswik, Surpac, Whittle, and/or other similar mine planning and optimisation software.
- Strong technical report writing skills and the ability to communicate complex information clearly to executive and board-level stakeholders.
