Overview: We are currently seeking expressions of interest for a Senior Mining Engineer position with an established underground metals producer in Asia. The polymetallic underground mine operates via mechanised open-stoping methods. The company is seeking an experienced mine engineering leader who holds prior expat experience outside of home country origin. The company can cater for FIFO and residential working arrangements.
Key Responsibilities: - Develop, optimise and implement short- and medium-term mine plans to ensure operational efficiency and production targets are achievable;
- Collaborate with the operations team to manage stope design, scheduling and sequencing;
- Utilise mining software to support mine planning, scheduling and reporting activities;
- Conduct technical evaluations and feasibility studies to identify opportunities for operational improvements;
- Mentor and guide national engineering staff to enhance their technical competencies;
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and regulatory requirements;
- Provide technical advice and support to management and operational teams.
Required Experience: - Degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in underground mining, with experience in mechanised open stoping mining;
- Proven expatriate experience outside of home country origin, with a demonstrated ability to adapt to diverse cultural and operational working environments;
- Proficiency in mine planning software (e.g., Deswik, Surpac, MineSched, or similar packages);
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with multidisciplinary and multicultural teams;
- A commitment to safety and a track record of implementing safe work practices.
