Overview:
We are currently seeking expressions of interest for an UG Mining Manager position with an established underground metals producer in Asia. The polymetallic underground mine operates via mechanised open-stoping methods. The company is seeking an experienced mine operations leader who holds prior expat experience outside of home country origin, to manage all underground activities, ensuring safety, efficiency and production targets are met. The company can cater for FIFO and residential working arrangements.
  
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage all underground mining operations, ensuring alignment with production and safety goals;
  • Develop and implement operational plans, budgets and schedules for efficient mine performance;
  • Oversee underground stoping operations, ensuring optimal stope design, sequencing and ore recovery;
  • Provide strategic leadership to a multidisciplinary team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental and regulatory standards;
  • Drive operational cost efficiencies while maintaining high safety and production standards;
  • Act as a key liaison between site operations and corporate management, providing regular updates on performance metrics and project progress;
  • Build and maintain relationships with contractors, suppliers and stakeholders to support operational goals;
  • Mentor and develop staff to ensure the team’s technical and leadership capabilities align with company requirements.
Required Experience:
  • Degree in Mining Engineering or a related field;
  • Minimum of 15 years of underground mining experience, with at least 5 years in a senior managerial capacity;
  • Extensive experience in mechanised open-stoping mining operations;
  • Proven expatriate experience outside of home country origin, with adaptability to diverse cultural and operational environments;
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills, with a track record of achieving production and safety objectives;
  • Strong commitment to safety, with a history of implementing and promoting safe work practices.
