An Australian private equity organisation engaged Iron Cove Global to complete an executive search campaign for the groups new gold exploration company. The new company would be listed on the ASX in the year ahead and required a new Chief Executive Officer to join the business to manage the ASX IPO process in initial phases then oversee an aggressive exploration campaign with an AUD$20M budget. The companies projects included a large land package of gold dominant prospects in known jurisdiction for high grade, large scale gold discoveries.
The search criteria required candidates to have prior experience as an MD/CEO in a similar role within a junior gold exploration company, preferably with a strong geological background. The selected candidate needed to demonstrate significant experience in running and overseeing successful gold exploration programs, as well as a strong understanding of ASX reporting requirements. They were also expected to have effective vision and execution skills, covering corporate, exploration, and project development strategies, along with the ability to manage key internal and external stakeholders and investors. Additionally, they should have the capacity to build an experienced and motivated workforce in rural Victoria. The chosen candidate had over 30 years of executive and geological experience and was selected for their previous success in leading pre-IPO junior exploration companies and driving a listed exploration company to create shareholder value.
